Chainsaw Carvers Turn Wood into Art on Competition Series A Cut Above
Twelve of the best chainsaw carvers from around the world compete in the wood carving comptitions series, A Cut Above.
Chainsaw carving is a true one-of-a-kind art form.
In A Cut Above, you’ll get to witness 12 of the best carvers from around the world re-imagine ordinary wood logs into jaw-dropping works of art. Don’t miss the premiere on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 10P ET/PT only on Discovery.
The competition will test contstants' artistry, stamina, and carving skills. Each week, the carvers will compete in Quick and Master Carve challenges while racing against the clock in hopes of avoiding elimination. At the end of the grueling twelve-week competition, the artist who out-carves the rest will win a cash prize and be named “A Cut Above.”
The technical judge is world-renowned chainsaw carver Ryan Cook, and the artistic judge is esteemed sculptor Katharine Dowson. Additionally, Golden Globe-nominee Adam Beach is the host.
