Celebrate Tank the green sea turtle’s Gotcha Day! Tank joined Georgia Aquarium’s family in 2015 after being rescued more than 25 years ago and living at other facilities. We've rounded up some of our favorite moments with Tank from over the years to commemorate his special day.

Georgia Aquarium recently celebrated Tank the green sea turtle’s Gotcha Day – and it was flipping fantastic!
Tank was rescued over ~25 years ago following an injury and was rehabilitated after being deemed non-releasable.
Tank found his forever home at Georgia Aquarium, where he serves as an important ambassador for his species.
Green sea turtles, like Tank, are currently listed as endangered and face a variety of threats, including entanglement in fishing gear and harvesting of their eggs.
Tank is most well-known at Georgia Aquarium for being the resident troublemaker. Often messing with the divers and other animals in the exhibit.
Trainers at Georgia Aquarium work with Tank daily.
Tank has quite the appetite and his favorite treat is lettuce.
While sea turtles spend most of their time under water, they do have to surface occasionally for air.
The green sea turtle is the largest hard-shelled sea turtle. Their unique greenish coloring most likely comes from their mainly vegetarian diet.
Tank is a beloved member of the Georgia Aquarium family and inspires guests every day to help protect our world's oceans and the animals that call it home.
