Some of the Aquarium’s resident reptiles recently received their annual exams. This included a king snake, pancake tortoise, and chuckwalla.
The animal health teams at Georgia Aquarium care for their animals every day, and a big part of their job is performing routine exams.
In addition to their general exams, these animals received x-rays and ultrasounds.
The images provided by these scans gives a closer look into an animal’s overall health, both inside and out. The teams at Georgia Aquarium can then work proactively if there are any health concerns seen.
They also examined their eyes, ears, and limbs (where applicable!).
