The sea otters at Georgia Aquarium are celebrating the holidays with a special enrichment.

These otters are “discovering” all the wonderful treats their trainers made for them.

All the ‘otterly’ adorable enrichment items you see in this photo are edible for the otters!

Us during the holiday break – lounging around and eating lots of snacks.

Southern sea otters have a thick fur coat to help maintain its body temperature in the cold ocean. The water temperature in Georgia Aquarium’s sea otter habitat is 56°F.

All is Merry and Bright(on). 🎄 Brighton the sea otter is getting a nice ice bath and cute Christmas tree toy as her holiday enrichment.

This Kong TM toy is filled with fun treats for the otters to find.

Training also serves as enrichment for Georgia Aquarium’s animals. Their trainers spend time everyday working with the animals and building a strong bond.

Looks like someone got a little too excited about the holiday ornaments.
